Sambar Recipe




Ingredients:


  •  Green gram or red gram dal - 75 grms
  •  Tomatoes - 2 (Small)
  •  Green Chilli - 4-5
  •  Tamarind - 10 grms
  •  Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  •  Red chilli - To taste
  •  Drumstick - 1
  •  Brinjal - 2
  •  Carrot - 2
  •  Lady finger - 5-6
  •  cucumber - Small Piese
  •  Fenugreek Seeds(Menthulu) – 3-4 Seeds
  •  Black Gram(Minumulu) – 1tsps
  •  Mustard Seeds – 1tsp
  •  Cumin Seeds(Jilakarra) – 1tsp
  •  Onions - 1
  •  Garlic paste - Few
  •  Salt to Taste
  •  Asafoetida (Inguva) – A Pinch
  •  Oil – 3tsps
  •  Coriander Powder (Dhaniyalu) - 1/2 tsP
  •  Coriander leaves - Few
  •  Curry Leaves-Few


Preparations:


Take dal and wash,then take all vegetables,tomatoes and wash.Now take dal in bowl and cook for 10 minutes.Now take vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.Now paste the dal.



Method:

             
Take bowl and Heat and add oil to it.When oil is hot add Mustard Seeds,Black Gram,Cumin Seeds,asafoetida,garlic paste turmeric Powder and fry.Now add onions,tomatoes,curry leaves,coriander leaves and fry.Now add all vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.Now add dal paste,salt and mix well.Now add tamarind water and add some water and boil for 10 minutes.And add Coriander Powder and cook for 4 minutes.Now transfer this to a serving bowl  and serve hot.Then serve with Rice,idle,dosa,vada,chapathi
